Escape, by the facts.
Escape is a privacy-first porn and adult-content blocker, and recovery app, for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It blocks porn in Safari for free, and it is built so there is no account, no server, and nothing collected, which means there is nothing about you to leak.
Boilerplate (copy-paste)
Escape is an independent, privacy-first porn blocker and recovery app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It blocks adult sites in Safari for free, extends blocking to every browser, and adds a 90-second urge ritual, practice games, and 27 short recovery courses. Unlike most apps in the category, Escape requires no account and collects no user data. Its App Store privacy label reads Data Not Collected. It was built solo by its founder, who goes by Sam.
Escape by the numbers
- 40,000+ adult sites blocked in Safari the moment you turn it on
- 27 short recovery courses, 205 lessons in total
- 4.8 average rating on the App Store
- 3 platforms: iPhone, iPad, and Mac
- Free to start, the Safari blocker and streak counter cost nothing; premium features are an in-app subscription
- 0 accounts, 0 emails required, and 0 user data collected
The privacy facts (the difference)
Most recovery apps hold your data on a server, or monitor your screen and report it to a partner. Escape is built the opposite way, and every claim here is verifiable on the App Store listing or by inspecting the app's network traffic:
- App Store privacy label: Data Not Collected. The strongest label Apple offers.
- No account, no email, no sign-up. There is no identity to attach your struggle to.
- No server holding user data. Your streak, journal, and blocklist live on your device, not on anything Escape owns.
- The blocker cannot see your browsing. It uses Apple's one-way Safari content-blocker system, which hands Safari a rule list and is never told what you visit.
- Nothing to leak. A company cannot lose or hand over data it never collected.
What Escape does
Free Safari blocking, Deep Block that extends filtering to every browser, app blocking for the apps that pull you in, a 90-second urge ritual, panic-button games for the moment of craving, a private on-device streak and journal, and 27 courses on identity and the long arc of recovery. There is an optional held-PIN feature so a trusted person can stand at the one moment that matters, with no monitoring the rest of the time.
Who makes it
Escape is independent and built by one person, its founder, who goes by Sam and keeps the same privacy he designs for. He built and ships it solo, full-time, and has been at it for about a year. More in his own words on the about page.
Quotable
"The most private data is the kind that was never collected. A company cannot leak what it does not have."
"Recovery is the one thing that should stay between you and whoever you choose to tell. So Escape is built to know nothing about you."
